We are working to ensure that children on the Isle of Wight are supported to get the best start in life that will lead to good health and wellbeing. This will provide the foundation to ensure they are able to achieve the best opportunities and keep as healthy and well as possible throughout their lives.
We want to ensure that families, individuals and communities are thriving and resilient with access to good jobs, affordable housing, leisure activities, lifelong training, education and learning, health and care services are are able to enjoy the place in which they live.
We want to ensure that people on the Isle of Wight are able to live independently in their own homes with appropriate care support. We want to make sure older residents are supported to play an active role in their communities and supported to maintain and develop their social and community networks.
Statutory and mandatory training is vital in creating a positive, safe andhealthy workplace that delivers high quality care for our community.
Designed by national experts, the training is relevant, accessible and inclusive.
The majority of the modules are online, which means it can be achieved anywhere, and at any time.
It is essential for every member of staff to be given the time and support needed to complete it.
As members of #TeamIOWNHS it is our duty to keep ourselves, our colleagues, and the people we care for, safe.
The consequences of not keeping up to date could be damaging to us personally, professionally and as an organisation.
In the NHS Staff Survey 2020, we were acknowledged as the most improved NHS Trust in the region for Safety Culture and by keeping up to date with our mandatory training, we can continue to improve and deliver the best services we can for our community.
These are the improvements we have already made.
Watch Karen Camarat, Sister on Apply Ward, tell us why mandatory training is so important to her:
We are also running a Management Development Programme known as Management Essentials. This programme provides line managers with the resources, development, confidence and support to effectively fulfil their role.
One of theses sessions will explore how we can improve our safety culture through mandatory training compliance.
